Blog break till June 6th

Hello everyone,
First of all I want to thank you all for your warm, heartfelt comments and emails on my previous posts. It really means a lot to me and I am so thankful for that!
I am so happy to tell you that Michiel got home two hours ago. With medication and a list of instructions... He still has to recover, he is very very pale and the few steps he took he was walking like an old man. The poor sweetheart. He is so excited that he's back home again but also realising what happened last week. It will take some time but eveything will be ok. With a son that needs extra care and attention for a good recovering and our 25th wedding anniversay party plannend for June 4th I want to let you know that I am taking a blog-break. Ill be back on June 6th. In the upcoming week Í want to focus on my son and preparing the party.
Until then!

Happy Birthday Kirsty!!!

Hello everyone,
Today I want to show you a card that I made especially for Kirsty; she is the multi-talented owner of the City Crafter Challenge Blog. And she celebrated het birthday yesterday. This challenge is one of my very favorites and Kirsty deserves a special birthday card!
Celebrating her birthday yesterday means I am too late.  I am so sorry but it's due to the fact that we had one of our sons in the hospital....And I didn't have the time to post in time...
Kirsty; although a bit belated but I hope you had a wonderful day! I wish you health, happiness and everything you'd wish for! Over to the card!
Of course a birthday sentiment:

A keyhole from Melissa Frances and some pearls:

Flowers from Mulberry and some seeam binding from Lina Beans online shop ( check it; she sells amazing craft supplies!)

Papers from Pink Paislee, a few stitches and an inked frame from Tattered Angels. The edges of my card are distressed with Antique Linen. Kirsty; here is your card :)

Kirsty this card…

A note from a happy mother....

(on forehand I apologise for grammar mistakes or using the wrong words; English is not my native language)
I am happy to tell you that Michiel is doing fine. He did have surgery Tuesday evening. It took the surgeon and her team 3.5 hours and given the circumstances Michiel is doing fine. He is still at the hosptial. And I expect him to be there for the next 4 or 5 days.
The surgery went well. The surgeon initially started with a laprascopie but came very quickly in many adhesions to the small intestine. It was immediately decided to make an incision in the lower half of his stomach to get better look and more space to do their job..
There were many adhesions to the small intestine and they all started with this release. Then they went looking for his appendix. It took a while before she'd found it .... They had expected to "find" it in the left half or in the middle of the abdominal  but found it  there on right The appendix itself was good, no infection or anything else t…

I really thought that we were getting back in the swing of things. After a few weeks with a painful back I really thought I could make more cards and blog much more....
But things turned out different and I just wanted to let you know...
Our oldest son is  admitted yesterday here in the UMCG Groningen. Afteraweekendwithsevereabdominal painandvomitinga lot. The ultrasonography shows a swelling of the intestines and moisture between the intestines. He has a lot of pain (had) an initial and exploratory surgery was not possible in connection with the swelling of his intestines. Blood test indicates an infection and we have just heard that there is still an exploratory operation to take place. He has no fever and the ct scan was not conclusive on an acute appendicitis. But given the blood results, there is still decided on an exploratory operation. That now appears to be. We do not know when, but sometime during the day our son will have surgery ..
We worry and the wait is nerve wracki…

CCCB #57 Sunday, stripes and polka dots.....

Hi there :)
A wonderful weekend after a week full of happiness, joy and laughter. And yes; the bathroom is clean :)
And now it's Sunday evening; time to post my card  for this weeks'challenge at the City Crafter Challenge blog.
this week it's all about polka dots and stripes: Just look at the gorgeous photo inspiration:

This picture made me decide to work with papers, diecuts and stickers from Melissa Frances. Pair it up with a doily, a glittered star from Memrie Mare, a rose from Mulberry, a tiny tag from June, some stitching and some pearls and there you have it......

The star and some stickers:

A rose, a string of pearls and a tiny tag. The sentiment is from Wild Rose Studio; stamped with Memento London Fog:

A die cut and a doily:

Papers from Melissa Frances 5 th Avenue paper pad. Here is my card:

I never get tired of these papers :) There is a new week around the corner; enjoy your Sunday! Till soon! Stella

CCCB #56 "By the sea"

Today is the last day to enter this weeks'challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog
And it's all about creating a card of project with items related to the sea.
A sweet and nostalgic photo inspiration:

I don't have a lot of  "sea" items in my stash. And besides that; I took me until last night to come up with an idea. Yes you could say that it has been a real challenge....And I hope that my card is good enough :)

I used an image of the Graphics Fairy:

Papers from MY Minds Eye Stella and Rose (Hazel). A ticket from June and a pearl from Pauline:

Flowers from Prima and Mulberry, velvet wings from Memrie Mare and a tag from June. The sentiment from Daisy Bucket Designs is stamped with Bamboo Leaves from Memento. Trim from Maya Road.

A few stitches, and I distressed the edges of my card and tag with Antique Linen. The "metal corners" were a gift from Ros. Here is my card:

Till soon! Stella

"Back" on track

Well hello there......
How are you? It has been more than 10 days since my last post. And all because of my back..... I am so stubborn to start hauling with 7 seven huge bags of garden soil. And ligfted them wrong. And after 7 bags my back no longer wanted to cooperate. And the result? I couldn't move for a few days; painkillers, and no crafting, blogging and so on and so on. I could not sit for a long period. The past week was very quiet....And a perfect reminder that there is nothing as important as being healthy.  I know; there are things much worse than a few twisted muscles...
But I'm happy that I'm back on track :)
There are a lot of challenges that I had to let go and today I am just in time for this weeks' challenge at The Shabby Tea Room
Here is the gorgeous photo inspiration; these colors are right up my alley :)

I made a card with a bit of a dreamy look.
